It was the middle of winter, and Amy had just come back from two weeks on the beaches of Mexico, all bronzed skin and bleached hair. I told her I had to paint her. It wasn't easy, however, finding an inflatable pool toy in January! But I couldn't have been happier with the result. Amy was a good sport (as was the Dolphin, clearly). This is an example of what I like to paint -- an image that pleases me on many levels, and makes the needle in my internal artistic compass tickle my heart. Like most of my figures, this one is painted roughly life size.
NOTE: This original painting is currently available for purchase, and also as a giclee print upon request.
