Bonehenge: Megalithic Mystery of the Southwest is a book that I have written and illustrated which documents a long-lost mythical civilization of the Mesilla Valley. It is presented in the form of long-lost field notes and drawings from a forgotten expedition mounted in the late 19th century. The books text and illustrations reveal the many examples of Bonehenge culture workmanship in bronze, stone, wood and earth, as well as the unique natural stone formations that clearly influenced their cultural aesthetic.
Regretably, many of the naturally occuring rock formations documented in the book have been either eroded or destroyed by encroaching modern civilization in the last 100 years. In an effort to preserve the memory of this lost culture, any objects that cannot be found will be re-created in a purposefully deceptive way: if proof cannot be found, it will be manufactured!
Suprisingly, the book has not yet found an enthusiastic publisher. Yet I will push on with my vision of creating an entire museum collection of fraudulent history for the amusement and bewilderment of future generations.
If you would like a copy of this book for yourself, feel free to contact me. If there is sufficient interest, I will self-publish the damn thing.
I gave a proof copy to an eminent geologist friend of mine some years ago for professional revue. Last word was that she was afraid to open it. Such is the burden of the cultural historian.
