Over the years I've done many renderings of new homes for builders and realtors, sometimes working from plans to create attractive views of what the home will look like. I've also been engaged to create the look of commercial buildings (generally when they are to be built in a historically sensitive area). On several occasions the drawings have been necessary to gain city council or planning comission approval, and each time my drawings have helped bring about a successful outcome.
My work can be clean and industrial, or more interpretive, as the brush and ink drawing above shows. Recently a friend engaged me to make sketches as we talked to show her builder as she had her porch re-modelled. I later saw the rough sketches tacked up at the jobsite, and the finished porch matched them perfectly!
